The main objective of our research is to understand how the ferroelectric polarization affects the chemi/physisorption of H2O molecules on a ferroelectric surface and how this adsorption may in return affect the chemical and the atomic surface structure and hence the ferroelectric properties. The acquired knowledge may be used to obtain a deeper understanding of light enhanced hydrogen production at a ferroelectric surface, to promote the water photolysis reaction, by favoring the electron-hole separation and the surface reactivity.
