National audienceToxicological studies aim at protecting human populations by quantifying the damages caused by exposure to chemical agents. The main objective of toxicokinetic studies is to describe the relationships between exposure and the effective quantity of toxic reaching tissues of the body. In that context, mathematical models are used to understand physiological phenomena of transport, transformation and elimination of chemicals in the body. For ethical reasons, data allowing to estimate model parameters are poor, sparse, and do not often concern human populations.
