Catalytic hydroconversion of a wheat straw lignin

The valorization of lignin is highly desirable as it is the main bioresource for aromatics. We present here a study on the hydroconversion of a wheat-straw soda lignin over a NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst. Very high liquid yield was obtained with an excellent mass balance (98 wt%). A product recovery protocol was implemented to separate, quantify and deeply characterize the gases, liquids and solid fractions.
