International audienceIn French sociological works about educational and occupational choices, the notion of "compromise-choices" refers to the assumption that girls, more than boys, tend to opt for occupations which they might consider more easily compatible with their future family roles. In doing so, they lower their academic and professional ambitions. In this article, we analyse the extent and the implications of such a notion.
