Nous avons étudié au niveau transcriptionnel l'expression des gènes de la plante au cours de la symbiose #Sesbania rostrata$ - #Azorhizobium$ ou #Rhizobium$, en comparant les profils électrophorétiques en deux dimensions des produits de traduction in vitro des ARN polyA+ provenant de racines et tiges non infectées avec ceux de nodules de racines et de tige. Parmi 25 gènes dont l'expression est stimulée dans les nodules, 16 sont spécifiques à la fois des nodules de tige et de racine, dont 6 correspondent aux leghémoglobines. L'expression de ces gènes spécifiques est séquentielle au cours du développement nodulaire. #Azorhizobium$ et #Rhizobium$ élicitent l'expression quasi identique des gènes de la plante.
