Since 2014, mussels from several production areas located on the Atlantic coast and along the English Channel have been affected by massive mortality events. As a result, many mussel farmers have experienced a drastic reduction in production following these unusual and unexplained mortalities. These events have disrupted a whole "coastal socio-ecosystem" and have generated questions and concerns from professionals in the mussel farming sector.
