International audienceThis study is interested in the way the war of independence of Cameroon was translated in the evolution and the distribution of the population and the territories in the Bamileke region, West Cameroon. Between 1955 and 1971, this region faced many turbulences linked to the independences in the Third World, which inflamed populations and countries. Forced displacements systematically advocated by the colonial authorities, and implemented through regrouping camps in troubled areas, durably modify the spatial distribution, the demographic structure and the mobilities of affected populations. The observed impacts reflect the effects of war and forced displacement more than the long periods. These are troubles with heavy co...
