bu and mei are two frequentely used Chinese negation markers. The thesis explores the difference between them on both the selection and the interpretation perspective. Furthermore, there is close relation between negation and aspect in Chinese, so the interaction between negation and aspect, and whether negation markers behave like aspect markers are trying to be answered in this thesis
