Despite evidence indicating an overall decrease in formal religious affiliation in the United States, the past ten years have seen a dramatic expansion of the faith-based non-profit sector. This study explicates this trend in relation to changing modes of public engagement and new forms of religious expression within America’s dominant religious affiliation: Evangelical Christianity.
