International audienceThis article looks at how French households (completely) demotorized, i.e. no longer owning a car but having had at least one in the past. While their number is small (only 8% of households in France according to the 2008 National Transport and Travel Survey (ENTD)), their case is interesting for scientific research and public action in a post-(private) automobile world perspective. The article raises the question of how they adapt their mobility practices to a daily life without a private car.
