The following Master Thesis is an economic analysis of the Photovoltaic production industry. In the past years this industry sector undergoes various changes and has anticipated a phenomenal growth before it was dragged inevitable into the financial crises with its huge impacts on the national budgets in the aftermath. Hence, a difficult market to survive for many companies. The analysis of the industry is based on several indicators like size, utilization-rate, the Minimum Efficient Scale, and the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) and shall illustrate the market status and how it might develop in the long run.6
