With advancing age, bone shows the increase of non-reducible cross links of collagen and biomechanical fragility, which often causes fracture. Bone with aging tends to be low turnover osteoporosis often combined with osteomalacia, which shows low level of calcium and phosphorus in blood. Roentgenological criteria of osteoporosis are biconcavity index of the lumbar spine, metacarpal score and trabecular grading pattern of the femoral neck. Three fractures associated with aging are fracture of the femoral neck, the distal end of the radius and compression fracture of the spine. The prevention of osteoporosis is extremely important as those fractures are closely related to osteoporosis
