At the begining of the XVth century, when Fernando de Antequera ruled Andalusia as a guardian of the young king Juan II, other members of his family were very interested in extending their power and influence in the region. The purpose of this study is to show how the infante don Enrique, Fernando’s son, tried to obtain from Juan II extensive powers in order to rule the region with the title of viceroy or even aiming to establish there an independent kingdom with rights to the conquest of Granada
