Three ladies and three families will help us recreate the role of elite women in the court of the Spanish Habsburgs in the period comprised between Philip IV’s reign and the regency of his wife, Mariana of Austria. We take the lives of three women who started their careers at palace and linked their life paths with the diplomatic career of their relatives. When young, the three women were ladies-in-waiting of Queen Mariana of Austria when she was queen consort and later when she was queen regent.
