Différents traitements de surface sont appliqués sur des alliages de titane pour améliorer leur processus d’ostéo-intégration. Néanmoins, le développement de nouvelles surfaces bioactives pourrait causer une réduction considérable de la résistance à la fatigue et à la corrosion, ce qui peut entraîner des défaillances catastrophiques dans leurs utilisations cliniques.
