The article is displayed the history of the Department of Botany, biography of Heads of Department and scientific activity, as well as the main directions of scientific activity of employees of departments in the past and in the today, is shown the parties of the educational process, social and educational work.It has discussed five periods of working of Department of Botany of biological faculty from 1933 to our time. It is emphasized the role of this department scientists in the investigation of region flora and physiology peculiarities of plants.The past helps us to understand the present and build the future. Therefore, the history of the department is not only educational in nature. Achievements and mistakes old days should be objectively analyzed and evaluated. The information will be of interest not only contemporaries, but also will be useful to future generations.Рассмотрены пять этапов работы кафедры ботаники в составе биологического факультета с 1933 г. до наших дней. Подчеркнута роль ученых кафедры в изучении флоры региона и физиологических особенностей растений. Висвітлено п’ять етапів у роботі кафедри ботаніки в складі біологічного факультету з 1933 року до сучасності. Підкреслено роль вчених кафедри у вивченні флори регіону та фізіологічних особливостей рослин.
