The elasticity theory problem of the investigation of free radial vibrations for an elastic cylinder of finite length is considered. Combined using R-function method and variational method for solving problem is proposed, at that the original problem is reduced to the algebraic eigenvalue problem. The application of R-function method is permit to consider arbitrary geometric form cylinders. The results of numeric eigenvalue and eigenform calculation of vibration problem for the circular elastic cylinder of finite length are presented.Розглянуто задачу теорії пружності про дослідження власних радіальних коливань пружного циліндра скінченної довжини.
