This thesis discusses the synthesis and real-time (RT) implementation of parameterized Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (pNMPC) schemes for automotive semi-active suspension systems. The pNMPC scheme uses a black-box simulation-based optimization method. The crux of the method is to finitely parameterize the input profile and simulate the system for each parameterized input and obtain the approximate objective and constraint violation value for the pNMPC problem. With the obtained results from the simulation, the input with minimum objective value or the least constraint violation value is selected and injected into the system and this is repeated in a receding horizon fashion.
