Radiotherapy is currently one of the main treatment modalities for cancer. However, it is not without risk~: ionising radiation used to destroy tumors may promote the appearance of long-term side effects when particles reach areas far from the treatment beam. To date, there is no efficient method for predicting this peripheral dose of radiation, which istherefore not included in treatment planning. The Monte Carlo simulation method, known for its precision in dosimetry studies, is heavily limited by the computing time requiered.
