With a purpose to simplify goniometric determination of surface energies via the van Oss-Chaudhury-Good equation, this dataset illustrates the ability to use a spreadsheet containing the surface tension components of three fully characterized liquids (e.g., 1-bromonaphthalene, formamide, and water) to linear algebraically and simultaneously solve for three surface energy components of a substrate (e.g., nonpolar, acid, and base components). The aforementioned components are then used to determine the substrate's acid-base component and the overall surface energy.
