Environmental contamination from natural and anthropological sources is receiving increased attention due to risks to human and ecological health. Manure from concentrated animal feeding operations is generally applied to fields as a cost-efficient way of disposal. Antibiotics are used in animal feeding operations to prevent disease and promote growth.
