International audienceThis article proposes to study the modes of writing of the Chronicle of Ioannina from a literary point of view. Some aspects of style lead it to be believed that this anonymous text was written in two separate parts : the first in a historical form around the year 1374 and the second in the form of a chronology written over the following years. Probably the work of the clergy of Ioannina, the Chronicle shows in unfavourable light the sovereign of the city, Thomas Preljubovic, he had confiscated the goods of the Church in order to finance his victorious war against the Albanian invaders.
