A importância da distribuição das estruturas esportivas para o legado urbanístico das cidades - sede dos Jogos Olímpicos

Most discussions about the legacy of major sporting events take place without empirical studies and are based on theoretical premises supported by political and marketing interests. This article investigates the concept of legacy in morphological terms from the point of view of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and cities that have hosted the Olympic Games. Special attention is paid to the distribution of sports structures in urban space. The aim of the study was to determine whether structures built for the Olympic Games redirect urban dynamics and how they do so in each host city, as the physical legacy differs depending on cultural factors and the stage of urbanization the host city is at.As discussões sobre o legado de grandes eventos esportivo ocorrem em sua maioria sem estudos empíricos e sob premissas teóricas com o apoio de interesses políticos e mercadológicos. Este artigo analisa o conceito de legado em termos morfológicos, do ponto de vista do Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI) e das cidades que sediaram os JO, dando especial atenção a distribuição das estruturas esportivas no espaço urbano. O objetivo foi verificar se as estruturas construídas para os JO redirecionam a dinâmica urbana, e como o fazem em cada cidade-sede, visto que o legado físico se diferencia em função de fatores culturais e do estágio de urbanização em que se encontram as cidades
