This article focuses on the development of the hydroelectricity supply before the Spanish civil war. The author suggest that the cost of obtaining energy by using hydroelectricity provided only a relative advantage, according to its physical features and irregular rainfall. Otherwise, the Spanish electrical company’s succeeded. The price system they imposed took advantage of the high price-elasticity of the lightening demand.
