Högskolans e-publicering : från projekt till etablerad verksamhet

E-publishing at universities - from projects to an established activity Electronic publishing is a growing activity in the academic libraries of Swedish universities and university colleges. A recent survey, performed by the Electronic Publishing Groupcommissioned by the Association of Swedish Higher Education (SUHF), found that thirtytwo universities and university colleges runservices for academic publishing, i.e. openarchives. The most frequent fulltext publicationsare doctoral theses, undergraduatetheses and reports. An important problem, however, is that archive managers find it difficultto reach out to researchers and otheruniversity staff and inform about their services. To move forward and in particular to increasethe numbers of scientific articles in the openarchives, e-publishing must be firmly establishedwithin the university sector
