The phenanthroline chelate-ring plane (N1, C12, C11, N2, Cu) is slightly distorted from planarity, whereas the five-membered ring formed by the glycinate ligand (defined by atoms N3, C18, C17, O1 and Cu), presents a distorted half-chair conformation
