Los días 25 y 26 de junio de 1998 se celebró en la Universidad de Southampton la conferencia Geografías Poscoloniales. Contó con los auspicios del Grupo de Trabajo de Historia y Filosofía de la Geografía de la Royal Geographical Society y del Institute of British Geographers.
