Literature is a very useful tool to use in the language classroom to teach, in this specific case, English. The use of literary texts offers a great variety of topics and activities to motivate students in the learning process. This project offers just one of many ways of using literature to teach, not only the language, but also the culture surrounding it. This thesis tries to prove the importance of using literary texts and the advantages it offers to students and to the teaching-learning process. Culture is also understood as an essential part of the learning of a language.
