This text is the result of reflections of methodological issues when I worked for the teaching of Mathematics among teachers of PRONERA. Became reality from the need for Conclusion of the Specialization Course in Professional Education Integrated Basic Education with the modality and Young Adults. Focus on Ethnomathematics, aims at understanding the meanings and representations assigned to mathematics influence their teaching. It aims to analyze the meanings and representations given to teachers of mathematics PRONERA and specific: to characterize the PRONERA, discussing mathematics with a focus on Ethnomathematics; characterize the meanings and representations given to teachers of mathematics PRONERA, and analyze the implications for educational practice. It was concluded that the representations and meanings of Mathematics teachers is loaded with social interaction profoundly political boundaries, therefore always use this knowledge to understand the world around them.Este texto é fruto de reflexões surgidas quando trabalhei questões metodológicas para o ensino da Matemática junto a professores do PRONERA. Tornou-se realidade a partir da necessidade de Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso de Especialização em Educação Profissional Integrada com a Educação Básica na Modalidade de Jovens e Adultos. Com enfoque na Etnomatemática, busca compreender como os significados e as representações atribuídas à Matemática influenciam suas práticas pedagógicas. Tem por objetivo geral, analisar os significados e representações dados à Matemática pelos professores do PRONERA, e, específicos: caracterizar o PRONERA; discutir a Matemática com enfoque na Etnomatemática; caracterizar os significados e representações dados à Matemática pelos professores do PRONERA; e, analisar as implicações para a prática pedagógica. Concluiu-se que as representações e significados atribuídos à Matemática pelos professores vêm carregados de interação social de contornos profundamente políticos, pois, sempre fazem uso deste conhecimento para compreender o mundo à sua volta
