This report compares and contrasts two methods of discerning industrial importance: (1) evaluating industrial information as conventionally reported by government agencies, and (2) using input-output techniques to allocate all indirect economic activity into industries producing for final demand. The advantage of the final demand apportioning procedure is that it allows for a determination of total job linkages to Iowa\u27s key industries like agriculture, ag-related manufacturing, all other manufacturing, and to banking and finance
