Treaty of Rapallo and its position in German-Soviet relations

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the Treaty of Rapallo, signed by Germany and Russia as an unexpected product of the Genoa conference. The aim of the case study is to define the position of the treaty in German-Soviet relations and its meaning for mutual dialogue. To understand the context of this issue, the first chapter describes position of both countries within international relations in early 20th century. The second part pictures changes of states position after the first world war. The next chapter observes the Genoa conference from German and Russian point of view, following by conclusion of the Rapallo treaty. The last part is focused on the agreement’s significance for future development in German-Soviet relations.Tato práce se zabývá Rapallskou smlouvou, jež byla v dubnu 1922 podepsána Německem a Ruskem jako nečekaný produkt janovské konference. Výzkum si klade za cíl definovat pozici této dohody v německo-sovětských vztazích a také její význam pro vzájemný dialog mezi těmito zeměmi. Pro pochopení širších souvislostí této problematiky popisuje první kapitola postavení obou aktérů v mezinárodních vztazích počátkem 20. století. Druhá část práce zobrazuje změny v pozicích těchto států po první světové válce. Třetí kapitola pak sleduje janovskou konferenci z německého a ruského pohledu. Následuje uzavření Rapallské smlouvy. Poslední část se zaměřuje na hledání významu této dohody pro pozdější vývoj německo-sovětských vztahů
