Abstract The increasing amount of variable electricity generation has brought world to investigate various flexibility sources to provide power network balancing through demand side management. Therefore, it is important to create new, more thorough models that allow using smart functions to control the various electricity loads. In this paper a model to simulate a fully mixed domestic hot water tank’s behavior in 60, 30 and 15 min time resolution, and its control mechanisms were created.
