A comparative analysis of the efficiency of using diesel traction locomotives in the Marokand - Kattakurgan section of the Uzbek Railway for freight trains with and without stops at intermediate stations, siding and separate points is given. Mathematical models of conducting freight trains by diesel-powered locomotives were developed, specific resultant forces of the train were calculated and built in the modes of traction, idling and braking, curves of the speed of movement and time of the train on the considered real railway section.
