Melamin formaldehit reçinesi üretiminde eterleme tepkimesinin ve metanol geri kazanımının incelenmesi

Methylated melamine formaldehyde resin is a kind of amino resin used as a cross-linker in the organic coating sector. Resin production takes place in the presence of catalysts sodium hydroxide and nitric acid using melamine, formaldehyde and methanol as feedstocks. The production process consists of three steps: methylolation, etherification and distillation. Due to its carcinogenic nature, the free amount of formaldehyde in the final product MMF should be less than 0.5% by mass. In the first part of the study, the parameters of the etherification reaction such as reaction time, ambient temperature and pH value were experimentally investigated. The optimum conditions of etherification reaction were found with the objective of MMF resin of the free formaldehyde content less than 0.5% by mass. In the second part, the removal of excess ternary mixture containing methanol, water and formaldehyde from the etherified resin by distillation was both computationally and experimentally investigated. A technically and economically feasible separation process was developed using the Aspen PLUS program for 99.9 wt% pure recovery of methanol from the ternary mixture. The ternary mixture obtained by distillation was used as in the methylolation and etherification reactions without removing water and formaldehyde, and MMF resin containing less than 0.5% by mass of free formaldehyde was produced.Metillenmiş melamin formaldehit (MMF) reçinesi bir amino reçinesi türü olup, organik kaplama sektöründe çapraz bağlayıcı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, eterlenmiş reçine içinde kalan aşırı metanol, su ve formaldehit üçlü karışımının uzaklaştırılması amacıyla uygulanan damıtma işlemi, hesaplamalı ve deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Metanolün üçlü karışımdan kütlece %99.9 saflıkta geri kazanımı için Aspen PLUS modelleme programı kullanılarak teknik ve ekonomik uygulanabilir bir ayırma süreci geliştirilmiştir. Buna ek olarak, damıtma ile uzaklaştırılan üçlü karışım, su ve formaldehiti uzaklaştırılmadan, metilleme ve eterleme tepkimelerinde olduğu gibi kullanılmış ve kütlece %0.5'ten daha az serbest formaldehit içeren MMF reçinesi üretilmiştir
