The biochemical and physiological functions of a large proportion of the approximately 27,000 protein-encoding genes in the Arabidopsis genome is experimentally undetermined using sequence homology techniques alone. This thesis presents a set of bioinformatics resources including a software platform for data visualization and data analysis that address the key issues in incorporating the metabolomics data for functional genomics studies. Multiple mass spectrometry based metabolomics platforms are combined together to get better coverage of the metabolome.
