This study describes the clinical and microbiological features, localization of antigens, and pathological aspects of experimental infection of 4-week-old lambs with a combination of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and Pasteurella haemolytica A-1. Twenty-two colostrum-deprived lambs were divided into 5 treatment groups. Each group was given either sterile inocula or RSV and P. haemolytica alone or in combination. When given in combination, inoculation with RSV preceded that with P. haemolytica by 3 or 5 days;In lambs inoculated with P. haemolytica or RSV alone, a mild respiratory disease developed in one of four and two of four lambs of the respective groups.
