W. H. Newell letter to Warren G. Harding, April 5, 1920

In this letter dated April 5, 1920, W. H. Newell of Cleveland, Ohio, writes to Senator Warren G. Harding regarding his presidential campaign. Newell describes a Richard Butler who opposed Harding because he did not vote for the Irish Bill. He believes that Republican presidential candidate Leonard Wood will fail, and that Harding will win the nomination with the "old organization" supporting his campaign, but emphasizes the importance of Harding campaigning across Ohio to secure the state.
