El mito como base social frente al relato cientificista: una comparativa entre Novalis y Unamuno

The aim of the following paper is to establish a comparative view between the essay Christendom or Europe, by the romantic German author Novalis, and the novel Saint Emmanuel the Good, Martyr, by Miguel de Unamuno. In spite of the generic differences between both works, it is our intention to prove that there is a common philosophical background, which consists of the proposal of myth as a way of interpreting the world, against a historical and cultural context of predominance of scientist philosophies.El objetivo del siguiente artículo es establecer una comparativa entre el ensayo La cristiandad o Europa, del pensador romántico alemán Novalis, y la novela San Manuel Bueno, mártir, de Miguel de Unamuno. A pesar de las diferencias genéricas entre ambas obras, se pretende demostrar que existe un sustrato filosófico común, que consiste en la propuesta del mito como vía de interpretación del mundo, frente a un contexto histórico-cultural de predominancia de las filosofías cientificistas
