PURPOSE: To generate the normative data of macular and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness for Bulgarian population using 3D OCT 2000 - Topcon and to evaluate the effects of gender and age on these parameters.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The 131 eyes of 67 healthy individuals aged between 16-71 years, with no ocular disease and best corrected visual acuity of 20/20, were examined using standard scanning protocols. The mean macular and RNFL thickness were evaluated, and the effects of age and gender on these parameters were analyzed.RESULTS: The mean retinal thickness (RT) was 275.4±11.59μm, mean central foveal thickness (CFT) was 241.8±2.01μm, mean central point thickness (CPT) was 213.7±28.64μm.
