Natural Killer (NK) cells are important anti-cancer innate immune cells. They are essential for cancer immunosurveillance and their activity is associated with better outcome in cancer patients. Some of their key functions include expression of cytotoxic molecules such as granzymes, production of the anti-tumour cytokine IFN?, and antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), which involves the killing of tumour cells coated with antibodies.
