This thesis explores different facets of childhood trauma, specifically focusing on aggressive behaviors. The impact of trauma can leave individuals, especially children, in a state of constant fight. Oftentimes, symptoms appear as tantrums, irritability, and defiance, which are perceived as “bad” behaviors by society. It is crucial that social workers, educators, doctors, policymakers, and parents alike learn to understand that a symptom is a piece of a larger puzzle. If we do not acknowledge the events that lead to certain behaviors in children, there will be serious socioemotional and societal consequences.
