Structure in rigid rod liquid crystalline polymers with flexible aliphatic side chains

One goal of this work was to study the effect of substituting a 1,4-phenylene residue in the repeat unit of wholly aromatic polyesters containing flexible side chains by the 1,4-bicyclo[2.2.2]octylene moiety.
