Meaning-making is essential for the flourishing of people and is innate to the human experience. People will make meaning whenever they sense a discrepancy or threat that contradicts their global beliefs. Leaders can facilitate meaning-making in their constituents in order to manage change, gain acceptance of new initiatives, and overcome organizational distress.
