A growing body of research in education suggests that high school students who have the chance to enroll in early college courses during high school are more likely to graduate, be admitted to college, and follow through and earn a college degree. In the State of Maine, early college opportunities are important to degree attainment and to lowering student debt. The University of Maine, through its Division of Lifelong Learning, is committed to providing high school students with opportunities to earn college credits, and to experience the value of a UM education.
