The UN Security Council Resolution 1325 is the first resolution on women.s rights in armed conflict situations. This essay aims to shed light on the UNSCR 1325 through the arguments put forth in the World Conference on Women (WCW), present an examination of the effect of such an argument on UNSCR 1325, and offer a critical review of recent studies on the UNSCR 1325. The preamble of UNSCR 1325 mentions the argument advanced in the WCW, which provided the basic idea and thoughts that shaped the stated resolution.
