This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The aim of the first part is to create an annotated translation of two subchapters of the book Henning Scherf. Zwischen Macht und Moral - eine politische Biografie, which was written by a German journalist Volker Mauersberger and published by Edition Temmen in 2007 from German to Czech. The second part of this thesis consists of a translation analysis according to Christiane Nord, a description of the method and the aim of the translation, selected translation problems, their solutions and also translation shifts based on the typology according to Jiří Levý and Anton Popovič.
