Background Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is used to treat menopausal symptoms. The use of MHT decreased after the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study which proved an increased risk of stroke and breast cancer. In 2019 the Swedish Medical Products Agency was commissioned to update the treatment recommendations of MHT. Aim To conduct a review of studies analyzing the use of MHT through the literature, and to describe the use of MHT in Sweden.
