Objective: Despite the high incidence and poor outcomes of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), it has no specific treatment. Many pharmacological therapies have been investigated in several studies, but there are limited treatment options with proven efficacy. The aim of our present study was to determine the effect of methylprednisolone treatment on mortality and morbidity rates in early ARDS.Methods: Forty-seven patients with ARDS who underwent mechanical ventilation (MV) between January 2008 and December 2012 were enrolled in this study.
