The Ethical Thoughts of Michel Foucault In Terms of Postmodernism

Çağdaş felsefenin son yıllarda üzerinde en çok tartışılan söylemi Postmodernizmdir. Postmodernizm günümüz düşünce dünyasını etkisi altına almıştır. Dolayısıyla bir Postmodernizm çalışması yapmak geliştirilen söylemleri anlamak açısından oldukça önemlidir. Tezde amaçlanan, gelişen bu Postmodern söylemin insan ve ahlak ile ilgili alanlarda neler ortaya koyduğunu keşfetmektir. Bu keşif 20. yüzyılın önemli filozoflarından biri olan Michel Foucault'nun ahlak görüşleri ekseninde ele alınır ve sonuçta Foucault'nun ahlak görüşlerinin belirlenmesiyle son bulur. Yüzyılın getirdiği koşullar çerçevesinde ahlaki alanda ortaya çıkan postmodern boyut, ahlak felsefesinin değer, özgürlük ve sorumluluk gibi belirleyici kavramları çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Modernizmde belli bir düzen ve yasalar çerçevesinde varolan ahlakın, Postmodernizmde farklı bir söylem içersinde farklı kavramlarla farklı bir yaklaşımla ortaya çıktığı belirlenmiştir. Foucault, ahlak anlayışını, kendine özgü bir söylem içinde, arkeoloji çalışmasıyla, cinsellik, hazların kullanımı ve kendilik teknolojileri gibi kavramların incelenmesiyle ortaya koymuştur. Bu bağlamda Foucault insanı, kendisiyle kurduğu ilişki çerçevesinde bir bilinç ve haz nesnesi ve iktidar ilişkilerinin şekillendirdiği bir yapıda varolan bir öznellik biçimi olarak tanımlar.Postmodernism is the most discussed philosophical thought in the contemporary philosophy. İt has a big influence on todays philosophical thought. So, to study on Postmodernism is important for understanding of the developed philosophical thoughts on it. The purpose of the thesis is to discover the contents of Postmodernism on human and ethics. This discovery is dealed with one of the most important philosophers of contemporary philosophy, Michel Foucault. His ethical thoughts are the basic axis of the thesis. In the framework of the conditions of the century brings, the ethical dimension of Postmodernism is studied with the ethical concepts such as values, freedom and responsibility. The ethics is methodical and normative in modern ethic; on the other hand postmodern ethic is raises on totally different arguments. Foucault's ethical thoughts are constituted in his own peculiar process. He uses archeology to analyze the sexuality, use of pleasure and selfconstitution as the methodology. In this context Foucault characterizes the human as a conscious and pleasure object, and as subjectivity form that is formulated by the power relations in the terms of self relation
