Total diz artoplastisi, son evre diz osteoartriti tedavisi için yararlı ve etkili bir tedavi seçeneğidir. Bunun yanında, bu cerrahi ameliyat içi ve ameliyat sonrası önemli miktarda kan kaybı ile sonuçlanmaktadır ve bu kanama sonucunda genellikle hastada kan transfüzyonu ihtiyacı oluşmaktadır.
